Costa del Sol is one of Spain's most popular tourist destinations and has been for many years. Costa Del Sol offers a mild climate along with many beaches, bars and restaurants which are some of the main attractions all year round.

We can divide Costa del Sol into a Eastern and a Western section:

Eastern: The Eastern part of Costa Del Sol is a 54 km stretch of coast line from the east of Malaga city. This area is highly developed with property but is also nothing anything like the development on the western part of Costa del Sol.

From Malaga going East, there are many cliffs with a height of 200 meters (or so) where the Sierra Almijara joins the sea. This section of land ends at a place called Mara.

Nerja is one of the most important urban centre on the Eastern parts of the coast and has grown very quickly. Much of the eastern part of Costa del Sol's apartments and hotels for tourists is found in Nerja. Nerja town is home to one of the eastern area's main tourist attractions, the Nerja Caves. These caves are open to the public and also play host to an annual music and dance festival. Close to Nerja town you will also find several coves with some of the nicest beaches to be found.

Western: This part of Costa Del Sol is around 100 km of coastline that again begins in Malaga and heads western to the border of Cádiz. This area is quite highly developed with both property and infrastructure, it also attracts a large percentage of Spain's international tourism. Needless to say this area has many apartments and hotels along the cost and has many top bars and restaurants to choose from.
